Great Weekend!

Saturday started off really early-I woke up around 7:30. I had to be at my volunteering meeting place at 9, hence the early morning. I headed to the Boys and Girls Club with about 25 other people who were excited to volunteer. (Or as excited as you can be at 10 AM) We helped out the organization by painting many of the rooms in the inside. We had walls to paint, tiles to paint, cinder blocks to cover, etc. Needless to say, there was a lot of work to do. In just 3 hours, we nearly completed everything that needed to be done. Its amazing how much work can be done so quickly when there are a lot of helping hands. I love being able to help out in the community, and one Saturday a month isn't even that much.

After I was done volunteering, my friend Heather came over and we spent the afternoon hanging out. I was doing my homework, while she browsed my music selection. Although the football games were one, we didn't really pay attention. (I am actually sad that I missed the Notre Dame upset...) We wanted to watch the Purdue game, but it didn't start until 10:15. Needless to say, I didn't watch that game...

This morning I headed to breakfast and ran into my RA and her fiancee. They invited me to eat with them...a nice treat! Plus they drove me back to my apartment. Any time I don't have to walk up the hill is always a blessing. I went to church around 10:30-I actually tried riding out my bike. It went relatively well so I think I will be doing that more often! We had a great service, and I met a new freshman. After church there was a bbq and free rides on the Boilermaker Special. (The official mascot of Purdue!) I am so excited that I can now say that I have rode the Boilermaker Special!

This afternoon I have been working on my homework, and I am planning on heading down to the library in the next few minutes. The weather is great and I am so happy about that! Its supposed to be nice all week, yay! I am going to be pretty busy this week, but I will try to blog at least once :)
